About
My name is Oleksandra. I am 18 years old, and I have recently graduated from high school in Portugal, where I completed the Arts course.
I chose this field because I have always loved drawing and creating beauty through visual expression. Art allows me to transform ideas into images and give them meaning through form, color, and composition.
During school, I worked on a variety of projects using different techniques and materials, which gave me the opportunity to experiment with different artistic approaches and styles. This website is also one of my school projects, where I can present my work and share my artistic journey. Outside of school, I regularly draw in my sketchbook and create digital illustrations on my tablet. My artwork mainly focuses on the human figure and environments, as I enjoy exploring anatomy, perspective, and atmosphere.
Another passion of mine is computer games. I have been playing them since I was about five years old. Some of the first games I enjoyed on my tablet were Where's My Water?, Candy Island, and Cut the Rope. A few years later, I got an Xbox 360 with Kinect, and I loved how active and interactive those games were. Jumping, dodging obstacles, and playing with motion controls made gaming even more exciting.
When I was around nine years old, I got my first computer, and my parents bought me Minecraft. I spent most of my time in Creative Mode because I enjoyed building much more than surviving. I even designed and built a small town, which helped me develop my creativity and imagination.
Later, between 2019 and 2021, I became interested in games such as Genshin Impact, Brawl Stars, and Roblox, and I still enjoy playing them today. What fascinates me most about these games is not only the gameplay but also their visual style, character design, environments, and storytelling. They have inspired me to improve my artistic skills and sparked my interest in digital art and game design.
My dream is to one day contribute to the development of a video game as an artist, helping create worlds, characters, and experiences that inspire other players just as games have inspired me. And perhaps, one day, I hope to create a game of my own, bringing together my passion for art, creativity, and interactive storytelling.
School project: playing cards
Inspired by Ukrainian folklore and mythology, this deck reimagines the traditional playing cards through the lens of cultural storytelling. Every card presents a unique narrative rooted in Ukrainian legends, where Molfars, forest spirits, Mavkas, and werewolves replace the familiar figures of the standard deck. While preserving the cards' original gameplay function, these new characters imbue them with fresh symbolic meaning. The symmetrical composition pays homage to the classic playing card format, while the vivid color palette and ornamental motifs draw inspiration from traditional Ukrainian folk art.
